The Compact Disc File System (CDFS) is the file formatting system used by optical disc media to designate a compact disc (CD). All CDs, whether audio, video or data, are all formatted in a type of CDFS. If you want to format that file system and remove the data on the disc, you can do so if the disc is a CD-ReWritable (CD-RW).
